The Family Vacation

This year, we decided to forego the Arizona Run in the truck in exchange for a more domesticated trip for the entire family.
We will be heading to New Jersey this year for the primary purpose of visiting my poor old mother. I have not seen here in about four years.

While there, we will visit Hershey Park in Pennsylvania as well as a few other local destinations.

The local destination that I am most looking forward to is a visit to my childhood rink; Young's Skating Center in Mays Landing, NJ. My two boys and I will be taking our skates along just to skate a Saturday session. I will be joined by my niece who also enjoys skating. I can hardly wait.

Between spending some time with Mom, and going skating, I will have a good time. With all the other little things we plan to do, we will all have a great time.

I pray for a safe trip, that we all remain healthy and comfortable through it all, and that we return safely home without major incident. As always, I prepare as much as possible, then put it all in God's hands. He has always been my guide and my strength.

We pulled the seats out of the van, shampooed the carpet, pressure washed the seats, and let it all dry. Dustin helped me pop the seats mack in this evening.
We will probably pack everything during the week, then load over the weekend while Doug and I are away on the Laurel Expedition.

We have started packing the van.
My nephew will be feeding the animals. I don't have to worry about the house being empty because brother-in-law and his kids will be there.

I am starting to get excited about this trip, now. Friday work will seem like a long day.

We got to NJ today. I got to visit with my mother for a short while before having to continue on to Hershey Park. I look forward to getting back there to spend some quality time with Mom.

I am also looking forward to skating on Saturday.

Tomorrow should be lots of fun on the roller coasters.

Mother-in-law became ill. Bad food maybe? Sick all night.
My wife is taking the kids to the park today while I stay with the sick one. We will have to adjust our travel plan to stay another night here in Hershey.

We picked up Jersey Girl along the way, so she is enjoying Hershey Park as well.

We did the Hershey 'factory tour' last evening. Had some fun and got dinner there.



Then, back to the hotel.

I got to work out in the gym for a while after the kids were settled in. It felt good to get my blood pumping after sitting and driving so much.

So far this trip has been so much fun!
