Squids ride Harleys

So there I was at the redlight just off of the interstate. It is a two lane ramp that joins a five lane main drag through town. Morning commute. I was in the right lane at the stop line.
I hear the distinct sound of a v-twin coming up next to me. I look left to see a pretty, late-model Harley Sportster. The rider is wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.
I give him a nod, but he continues to look straight ahead. I turn my head forward again, then quickly look left to catch him looking my way. I nod again, and this time he nods back.

I love how my full face helmet hides my facial expressions.

The light turns green and he roars off, full throttle. His rediculously loud pipes bark obnoxiously as I ease out in first. He bangs through three gears, making more noise than speed. I go 'click' and ease up through second. I keep it there because it is a 35 mph construction zone. Harley dude rages on, literally hurting my ears.

A car from the oncoming lane decides to make a sudden, angular left turn across three lanes to get to a side street in front of Harley squid. If the guy hadn't let out of it a few seconds earlier like he did, he would have hit the car. As it was, he had to use brakes to safely miss it.

A half block later, he has to stop in the left turn lane while I roll quiety past him to stop at the red light.

I wonder if he has any idea how I saw him; what I thought of him. I wonder if he knew I could have waxed him in first gear before the front wheel ever came beck to pavement.
I'm glad i took the low road. One idiot on any given stretch of road is more than sufficient without me joining in the fray. I won't say that I don't show my as much as the next guy. I just don't give the holier than thou attitude.
